Gayle King Dons Purple Christian Louboutin Boots to Complement a Vibrant Ensemble in New York City
Gayle King showed off her signature colorful style in New York City on Feb. 18, donning a pair of bold purple Christian Louboutin boots to round out a vibrant wintertime ensemble.
The “CBS Mornings” anchor loves a shock of color in her outfits, and this particular look certainly delivered on that front. She wore a hot pink dress with a geometric design of periwinkle squares across it. A fuzzy pink, purple and red scarf helped to keep her warm in addition to a cozy fur coat in a lively carnation color, a lighter shade that complemented the saturated Barbie pink of her dress.
Even her wavy hairstyle, colored a deep red, matched her outfit. We’ve seen a similar color scheme from King before — in London in September she attended the after party for the play “Coriolanus” wearing a glittering knit dress with purple and red stripes along with pointed red boots.

Returning to her Feb. 18 look, Christian Louboutin boots in a fun violet hue accented King’s vividly colored outfit. The shoes featured an almond toe and a stiletto heel in addition to a tall slouchy shaft. The signature color of the label, an unmistakable shade of red splashed across the sole of each shoe, could be glimpsed on the inner side of the stiletto heel in photographs, a welcome accent fitting in with her eye-catching aesthetic. This isn’t the first time King has worn purple suede shoes — she donned a pair of pumps in a purple hue when she attended MoMa’s 2024 Black Arts Council Benefit in April.
While King’s Feb. 18 ensemble displayed a color scheme she’s shown love for in the past, her look might also be associated with recent Valentine’s Day. She certainly seemed to be representing the holiday through her sartorial choices on Feb. 14 when she attended “SNL50: The Homecoming Concert” at Radio City Music Hall. For that occasion, she went with a velvety red suit and hot pink top; a pair of sparkling pink sneakers maintained the theme in addition to a multi-colored clutch.
