Timothée Chalamet Comes Out as Uggs’ Biggest Fan, Wearing The Boots on ‘SNL’ and Courtside at a Knicks Game
Timothée Chalamet is many things: two-time best actor Oscar nominee, red carpet fashion icon, proud New Yorker and, apparently, an Ugg enthusiast. The “A Complete Unknown” star has recently stepped out on numerous occasions wearing black sheepskin-lined boots, pulling them out not only for double duty on “Saturday Night Live” on Jan. 25 but also for a Knicks game on Jan. 27.
With these two high-profile events, Chalamet seems to be communicating that Uggs are en vogue this season. Eagle-eyed fans watching “Saturday Night Live” over the weekend might have noticed that the “Beautiful Boy” actor wore short black Ugg boots during his monologue. The boots complemented an outfit that was in line with his usual casually cool streetwear aesthetic: blue jeans, a simple black shirt and a unique mint green leather jacket featuring animal print accents.
While Chalamet changed up his outfits throughout sketches, the boots were back again when he switched into musical guest mode to perform his favorite Bob Dylan songs. The first performance featured an all-black ensemble including a jacket with an eye-catching furry hood. While the stripped-down second performance featured dark lighting, it would not be surprising if he had on the Uggs again to go with his Adidas jacket and a patterned scarf, continuing the scarf streak he has modeled while promoting “A Complete Unknown.”
The looks didn’t end there — Chalamet continued to showcase the versatility of a black Ugg as the show went on. At the end of “SNL,” he modeled the boots with a Yankees jacket, slouchy gray jeans and a scarf. He appears to have worn this outfit to the afterparty, and, of course, his Uggs came with him, along with a hat referencing the Bob Dylan song “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right.”
Just two days later, the Golden Globe winner showed love for another team from his hometown: he sat court side last night when the New York Knicks played the Memphis Grizzlies at Madison Square Garden. His outfit: distressed blue jeans and a statement-making leather Knicks jacket. After the Knicks won, Karl Anthony-Towns gifted Chalamet with the jersey he wore during the game.
The two posed together, and on his feet yet again was a pair of cozy black boots — proving that his Uggs really are his latest trusty shoe.
