Moon Boot has found a new collaborator in the restaurant group Sant Ambroeus. The two have teamed up to create a special edition iteration of the Icon Low boot ahead of the opening of Sant Ambroeus in Aspen.

The shoe is crafted with light blue suede and multi-colored laces; in addition to displaying the Moon Boot logo, the pair includes a signature imprint of the Sant Ambroeus dove symbol and a custom-crafted pin in the shape of a dove, meant to be attached to the laces. Limited quantities of the shoe were created and gifted to members of the Sant Ambroeus and Moon Boot communities.

It’s been a cold winter thus far, and plenty of celebrities have donned Moon Boots in recent times, including Winnie Harlow, Hailey Bieber and Heidi Klum, who have shown a variety of ways to style the shoes inspired by the 1969 moon landing. Harlow wore a white pair with distressed pants and a Juicy Couture zip-up; Hailey Bieber wore a brown pair with a fur jacket and bikini; and Klum wore a black pair with baggy jeans and an avant-garde coat.

The winter boot brand has engaged in many collaborative endeavors over the years; it was announced in 2024, for example, that Adidas Sportswear’s first collaboration would be with Moon Boot; the collection included high-top and low-top styles. Don’t let the brand name deceive you, as Moon Boot also ventured into the realm of sneakers last year with the launch of the Park Icon style, which features the company’s recognizable lacing applied to a sneaker silhouette.

The new Timberland Premium 6-Inch Boot comes in two colors — Dark Brown and Dark Green — with a woven leather upper that is reminiscent of Bottega Veneta’s signature Intrecciato pattern. 

Italian for “braided,” the Intrecciato woven leather was introduced by Bottega Veneta in the late 1960s and has become its most distinct design element. On its Timberland-inspired Haddock Lace-Up Ankle Boot, Bottega Veneta featured the criss-crossing leather application on the heel collar. The boot comes in various styles and fabrications. 

For Timberland’s new Premium 6-Inch Boot, the VF Corporation-owned outdoor footwear company went all-in on the luxurious treatment, covering nearly the entire shoe in the Bottega-like leather weave. On its version, the heel collar is fashioned in a traditional smooth leather, effectively making it an inverse look of Bottega Veneta’s Haddock Lace-Up Ankle Boot.

Unsurprisingly, the new premium woven boots are already proving popular. They’ve quickly sold out from many U.S. boutiques, and sizes are depleting on Timberland’s international e-commerce sites. The boots have not yet been launched on Timberland’s American e-commerce site, but retail pricing is set at $240.

Lunar New Year 2025 officially begins January 29, and luxury footwear brand Dr. Martens is in a celebratory mood with their brand new Year of the Snake collection.

Drawing inspiration from the theme of the year, the capsule features a versatile range of iconic Dr. Martens silhouettes, including the renowned 1460 boot, the 1461 shoe and a leather backpack to round it out. Per the brand, each style is crafted in snakeskin-embossed leather, and features a rich, full-grain finish, and the brand’s signature craftsmanship. Both the 1460 boots and 1461 shoes feature a snake-print backstrap in a bold red color that brings the luck element into the collection. Gold accents and snake charm details finish the silhouettes, with the 1461 shoe celebrating the good fortune of the new year through its eye-catching red outsole.

Aside from this collection, Dr. Martens is off to a strong start to kick off 2025. Earlier this week, the brand debuted three new boot styles equipped with the chunky, blown-out “DMXL” sole that first hit the scene in 2023. Additionally, two new models were introduced into the collection as well, the DMXL 2976 Chelsea ($170), characterized by a front-facing zip-up design and elasticized gusset, and the DMXL 8-Eye ($170), which features a medial side zipper and innovative lacing system.

The brand also announced their elaborate Valentine’s Day collection earlier this week as well. The collection includes two footwear offerings and two accessories, all of which range between $140 to $200. The Caiti boot and Kemsley shoe are the main standouts of this capsule, as they are defined by their leather craftsmanship, leopard prints and pink contrasts. Both boot models are completed with velvet pink bows, and feature a glitter design on the outsole. Similar to the Lunar New Year 2025 collection, the Valentine’s Day assortment comes with two bags that can either be worn as a crossbody style, over-the-shoulder or as a backpack depending on your preferences.

An Up-Close Look at Dr. Martens Year of the Snake Collection [PHOTOS]

Dr. Martens Year of the Snake collection reimagines the 1460 boot and 1461 shoe. They both include a snake-print backstrap in a contrasting red hue that nods to the traditional lucky color associated with the Lunar New Year. The 1461, a low-top lace-up style, leans into the theme with a red sole. The 1460, meanwhile, is a lace-up boot. Both the 1460 and 1461 come with gold accents and snake charm details. The collection, which also includes a leather backpack, became available on Jan. 2 online as well as in select Dr. Martens stores. Dr. Martens is kicking off 2025 with three bold new boots.

Each style is equipped with a chunky, blown-out “DMXL” sole, which first debuted as part of the brand’s exclusive “14XX” incubator line in 2023. The oversized sole combines lightweight EVA with durable PVC pods and an inflated tread that adds a bit of edge. Inside, “SoftWair” insoles deliver ideal cushioning and support for optimal comfort while on the go.

The latest additions to the DMXL collection include a lace-up silhouette and two zip-up styles. The boots are all made of “Lunar,” a soft, full-grain tumbled leather, and finished with Dr. Martens’ hallmark yellow stitching. The DMXL 2976 Chelsea ($170) features a front-facing zip-up design with an elasticized gusset that allows the wearer to easily slip the ankle boot on.

The DMXL 8-Eye ($170) boasts an innovative lacing system that extends to the sides of the boot. The style also features a medial side zipper so you can put them on without disturbing the laces. Inspired by workwear boots, the DMXL Rigger ($190) is characterized by zippers and pull tabs on both sides.

The DMXL 2976 initially appeared when the 14XX line launched and premiered its “Beta Pack” in 2023. According to a statement from the brand, “14XX is an initiative powered by a desire to create progressive, experimental designs that push the boundaries of the brand’s previous technical capabilities.”

Last spring, the DMXL sole was added to the latest collaboration from Dr. Martens and designer Rick Owens. The duo dropped two silhouettes featuring Owens’ signature oversized tongue and contrasting beige laces that wrap around the entire boot.

The iconic British footwear brand was founded in 1945 when a young soldier and medical doctor, Dr. Klaus Maertens, designed an air-cushioned sole to aid in the recovery of his broken foot. The original eight hole 1460 boot served as the brand’s first model. It was marketed to Britain’s working class and retailed for just 2 euros. The rugged boots were eventually adopted by the punk rock community and embraced by British youth culture.

The DMXL boots are available to shop online now and will launch at select stores on Jan. 16.

Born in the wet and slog of Maine’s woods and fields more than a century ago, the L.L. Bean boot is an enduring icon of classic American outdoor style. And from humble roots, the instantly recognizable duck boot style has become a global juggernaut, powering the rise of the L.L. Bean corporation to $1.7 billion in revenue and gracing magazine shoots and runways even as it remains a classic workhorse for thousands of wearers in wet weather. 

It’s no accident that there’s a 16-foot tall replica of the Bean boot outside of the L.L. Bean flagship store in Freeport, Maine. (It’s a popular photo spot for tourists.) Nor is it a coincidence that when the brand wanted to celebrate its centennial year in 2012 that it chose the Bean Boot to immortalize in a fleet of giant boot-shaped trucks — the dedication to the L.L. Bean boot runs deep. Here’s how we got here.

L.L. Bean invents the duck boot

The LL Bean boot started with a pair of wet feet. 

In 1911, avid outdoorsman Leon Leonwood Bean was tired of coming back from hunting trips with cold, soaking shoes. A year later, he created a solution: a hybrid boot style made for outdoor wear called the Maine Hunting Shoe, which married soft and flexible leather uppers with a rubber work boot bottom. The first shoe was sewed by Gertrude Goldrup — and the sewing machine she used can be seen today at the brand’s Freeport flagship.

Bean was confident that he’d created a winner, so confident that he warrantied all 100 pairs he made with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Unfortunately, the design had a flaw: The single line of stitching that united the upper to the bottom wasn’t strong enough to hold up during wear. Ultimately, 90 of the first 100 pairs came back. 

Undaunted, Bean borrowed $400 from his family (roughly $13,000 in today’s dollars) and used the investment to create an improved version, with an upgraded rubber bottom that was triple stitched to the upper — the construction technique still used in Bean boots to this day. 

The new and improved version was a hit. By 1917, L.L. Bean had sold enough of the Maine Hunting Shoe style to open a dedicated shop in Freeport, Maine – by 1951, an L.L. Bean flagship was open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, a tradition that continues to this day. In 2024, more than 110 years after its debut, the company sold between 250,000 and 500,000 of the Maine Hunting Shoe style,.

Bean boots through time

The Bean boot quickly caught on with hunters and outdoorsmen, including some notable names — Babe Ruth and Ernest Hemingway were both fans. During World War Two, Bean served as a consultant to the U.S. Army and Navy, and a version of the famous boot was created for American troops. 

By the 1980s, the Bean boot entered a new era – not only was it an outdoor staple, it was starting to be acknowledged for its Americana style. The boot was an acknowledged essential of classic American style, with the brand being mentioned by name in 1980’s The Official Preppy Handbook. 

While an exact date is hard to pin down, sometime around 1992, L.L. Bean started selling styles under the name Bean boot, which it had informally been known as by most shoppers anyhow. The company has continuously sold the original style as well.) The best seller is the 8-inch unlined tan boot, easily the brand’s most recognizable iteration of the style. You can even still buy the Maine Hunting Shoe, a 10-inch boot that aims to capture the moccasin-esque feel of the original style.

And continuing the way they started, both styles are still assembled in L.L. Bean’s factories in Lewiston and Brunswick, Maine. 

The Bean boot today

In more recent years, Collaboration has kept  the Bean boot relevant in fashion spaces. 

In 2019, L.L. Bean launched its first partnership with Maine-based sailcloth backpack brand Flowfold, and in February of 2020, the boot took to the catwalk at Men’s Fashion Week in New York thanks to a collaboration with designer Todd Snyder, the fruit of a three-year design process. In addition to a special edition of the Maine Hunting Shoe, the collection included a crewneck knit sweater with a design of the signature boot front and center.

Most recently, the company debuted a collaboration with Grammy-winning Vermont-based singer and songwriter Noah Kahan. Released in October of 2024, the eight-piece capsule collection included a take on the Bean boot with a waxed canvas upper and a duck-print air mesh lining. 

The appetite for the versatile, sporty style expanded beyond its American roots as well. In 1992, the brand took its first international steps, opening a store in Tokyo. (Today, the brand has 22 Japanese doors.) In 2018, L.L. Bean launched a Canadian website and expanded into brick-and-mortar in Canada in an exclusive partnership with Ontario-based distributor Jaytex Group. 

Today, L.L Bean’s website serves more than 200 countries and territories, taking orders in more than 60 currencies. More than 100 years after the first model was created, the L.L. Bean boot continues to be an iconic American style and outdoor favorite.

Versions of the Bean Boot are made for men, women and children, in the classic 8-inch height, as well as low-cut moccasin and gumboot versions, 6-inch, 7-inch and 10-inch heights as well. Insulated versions, flannel lined versions and takes in a variety of colors and materials make the Bean boot a true franchise. No matter which style you chose, the LL Bean boot remains an instantly recognizable American classic.

People on social media are cleaning their Uggs with dry shampoo. Instagram and TikTok users have been sharing their experiences using the popular hair care product to get water and grease stains out of their suede Uggs.

A go-to for many in between hair washes, dry shampoo absorbs excess oil and grease to refresh strands without the need to get the hair wet. One user shared a video of herself using a spray formula on her boots on Instagram. “For the girl who said that dry shampoo would clean water on Uggs, I love you,” she wrote over the how-to video, which shows her using a toothbrush and a towel to work out the stain after applying the dry shampoo.

Another netizen posted a video on TikTok recommending the method. “I got a huge grease strain on my Uggs because I dropped like one chip on them but this hack with dry shampoo and talc worked a treat,” they shared.

The user explained that they left the powdery dry shampoo on for about 5 to 10 minutes before scrubbing at the stain with a fresh toothbrush. She then wiped the boots clean with a towel. The stain wasn’t completely gone though, so she added more, as well as some talc powder to leave the boots overnight. Talc powder is another product often used in cosmetic products for absorbing excess oil.

Another person on TikTok showed off an oil stain on her Tasman slipper, one of the brand’s most popular styles. After leaving dry shampoo on the shoe for “quite a while,” they brushed it off and were pleased with the outcome. “It’s not perfect by any means, but that works so well,” she concluded.

One TikTok user was far from impressed with the results, though. “I feel like this is kind of a risky thing to do but every video I watch says dry shampoo actually works,” she said. After applying dry shampoo to her Tasman slipper, she exclaimed, “I think it looks worse.”

Once again working with Disney Pixar’s “Cars” franchise, Crocs will release a new Lightning McQueen-inspired Classic Clog in 2025. 

The new shoe is a reprisal of the fan-favorite collaboration, which debuted May 2019 in adult sizing and was restocked in September 2022 and once again in August 2023. The Lightning McQueen style was originally released as a kids’ shoe, but consumer demand – and a viral petition — led the footwear company to launch the shoe in bigger sizes. It was an immediate success, selling out each time it was released.

While the original Lightning McQueen Crocs may not be quite as red hot as they once were, this new refresh from Crocs should give the collab some revived energy. Early product images show a similar-looking red foam clog with design updates including the shifting of the race car’s flaming “95” number from the midfoot to the heel. And rather than personify the pair with eye and mouth animations, this new design opts for Lightning McQueen-inspired details with a repeating “95” checker pattern, “Rust-eze” heel logos and a large Jibbit depicting the character. 

In addition to the Lightning McQueen pair, Crocs issued in October ’23 a Classic Clog inspired by the franchise’s Mater character. 

Licensed partnerships have been a key to Crocs’ success over the last decade. Whether it’s a franchise like “Cars” and “SpongeBob SquarePants,” musicians including SZA and Post Malone or fashion brands such as Balenciaga and Christopher Kane, the brand’s foam clog has been the perfect canvas for collaborations.

Despite the arrival of these official product images, a release date for the new Cars x Crocs Classic Clog “Lightning Mcqueen” has not been confirmed. According to House of Heat, the pair will be released during spring ’25. Readers can find a detailed look at the new shoe below.
